August brings about a move for the Freq crew at the Sub Club as they take on a new slot on the first Friday of the month. A night of quality is in store to initiate this with the inclusion of the superb talents of Tadeo and Damian Schwartz live. Having both played much talked about roles in the success of another Sonar festival this year, and as part of the Net 28 family, they will both bring their unique techno styles to the intimate Sub Club for another collection of the venue's clued-up clientele. Tadeo is likely to provide a dark and groovy mix of driving techno: as a celebrated producer he creates hard, repetitive techno very much in a Detroit style. Schwartz's live techno-based performances rely far more on a love of melody and more of a jazz sound. Freq is one of a number of still relatively new techno nights at the Subbie that have taken this world famous venue into a wonderful fresh future, that will hopefully see it rule the roost for many years to come. Be sure to make it down to Freq this month and check out this very promising night. [Sean McNamara]
