SkinnyFest 2 - Fat Wednesday, The Caves, Aug 16/23

Article by Penny Green | 14 Aug 2006

A special partnership in new music promotion in Edinburgh, Trouble and Departure Lounge, bring you Fat Wednesday at the Baby Belly every week of the festival. Yep, you already missed the fabulous live electro funk act Digital Jones, but Fat Wednesday will be bringing you two more chances to catch some of the best live music Edinburgh has to offer. On the 16th Keiretsu's horns and strings will be warming up the stunning Caves with a unique fusion sound which draws on drum'n'bass, jazz, and electro. Next up, on Wednesday the 23rd is a gem of a group who have been bewitching Edinburgh audiences to great acclaim most of this year; Joe Acheson Quartet. Two drum kits, violin, bass, an array of keys and synths mix to produce dark soundscapes with driving snares and a completely absorbing sound; Joe Acheson Quartet are a must see. To top it all off, Fat Wednesday's vinyl groovemasters Eric Da Viking, Hobbes and Astroboy will supply an ever dependable feast of ass-shaking tunes to ease your way through the night. [Penny Green]
