2007 has so far been a year of clubs coming of age, and this month JakN turns four years old. To celebrate, the crew are bringing you a very special live set from Rotterdam's Secret Cinema (EC records). Secret Cinema, aka Jeroen Verheij, began producing in 1990 as the Meng Syndicate, brandishing techno, house and electro to great success in Belgium and the Netherlands. He won Best Dutch Producer and Best Dutch Single at the Update Dance Awards in 1997 for Grooveyard Mary Go Wild, and has become progressively more techno-orientated as time has passed, injecting a new found energy into his live sets. His debut album as Secret Cinema, White Men Can't Funk, achieved further chart success, and he has since indulged in movie soundtracks for Lokman. Expect some choice cuts from his albums Skunk&Espresso and SC002 for his birthday bash set. F-N and Sekonz will be on support duties, and the crowd is expected to help with the decor by coming in fancy dress for the occasion. There will of course be prizes for the best costumes so put some effort in and enjoy the free vodka jellies, CDs, and more drinks promos, and goodies from the T-Shirt/Hoody stall. [Alex Burden]
