2015 is soon to be a hazy memory on this quixotic road we call life, but how are you going to see it out? The options are myriad but treacherous: ending one year and begining another ten-deep in a dreary boozer or curled up with Jools Holland is no one's idea of fun. That's why we'll be hand-picking the best New Year's Eve parties happening near you and including them here as the details come in.

The best New Year's Eve parties in Liverpool:

Justin Robertson gets the nod for Constellations’ NYE party (£10). The well-bearded DJ and producer is a long-time proponent of alien machine funk, having initially made his name during the Northwest acid house boom in the early-mid 90s. Since then, he’s spanned pretty much all forms of dance music at some point or other.

Chibuku host their annual jamboree, this time at the Arts Club – Less Effect DJs join Rudimental, Redlight, Monki and more on a packed lineup as per (£20).

Elsewhere, if you’re after a spot of bassline, there’s always the option of DJ Q and DJ Swiss of So Solid Crew, playing the Sidewinder party at The Garage. Imagine the sheer novelty value of a 21-second New Year countdown. Also £20, this one.

Or why not "escape monotopia" and make your way to party planet Kronos for The Kazimier's New Year's Eve party? Not much has been revealed about this interplanetary extravaganza yet, but anyone who's been to a Kaz end-of-year blowout will know that they throw one hell of a party. Sadly, this will also be their last, but then all the best New Year's Eve parties need a dusting of melancholy. First wave tickets will be released very soon on the Kaz's mailing list. Finally (for now), any latent indie boppers based in Liverpool should be over the moon at the news that Olugbenga – bassist of Metronomy – is spinning at The Shipping Forecast on 31 Dec. The guy has been enjoying a second wind as a producer in recent years, including remix duty for the likes of Depeche Mode and Scissor Sisters. The fact it’s just a fiver in makes this more than a meagre throwaway option.
