Marc Huole, Return to Mono, Subclub, Glasgow, Dec 8

With slyly hidden and tightly-strung elastic melodies, Huole's not to be missed.

Sticking with the less-is-more approach after their successful shows with minimal legend, Richie Hawtin, Sonar favourite Adam Beyer and moody technoid The Hacker, Slam bring RSRS/M-nus family member Marc Huole to Glasgow's basement. Return to Mono's an impressive step down from the monstrous parties of Pressure, but with a slew of smaller-scale and just as impressive names it looks set to be an interesting residency. Performing live, Magda collaborator and click-click minimal remixer, Marc Huole will deliver a live set of cold winter beats. Learning from his peers, Huole's adept at moving a floor with the M-nus family's distinctive 'Closer to the Edit'-style sample-saturated mixing. Expect some more inventive moments however, as he recreates the darkly danceable pings, boings and wobbly offbeat bass of Restore and Bay of Figs. With slyly hidden and tightly-strung elastic melodies, Huole's not to be missed. [Liam Arnold]
