Joining longstanding Don't Drop residents McEwan & Torrance and RJay Murphy will be the Loose Joints team, who have been on the scene since the turn of the year now, plus masters of a good time, Boogaloo (aka Callum and Doug). No-nonsense, high energy good times ahead (£5+bf).

For this special Boxing Day blowout, DJ Billy Woods will be playing all night long through to 4am. That's five hours of pure, unadulterated, deep psychedelic disco, people. As usual, get down early to beat the queue, and remember that the club gets HOT, so dress accordingly (doors 11PM / £8 otd).

Pressure: Soma 25 Party @ SWG3, Fri 30 Dec

To mark the 25th anniversary of the iconic Soma Records, co-founders Slam will be performing a rare and exceptional live set at their end of year Pressure party. The duo feature alongside an extremely special guest, the inimitable Jeff Mills. There's also an exciting array of Soma artists in store – think Funk D'Void, Silicone Soul, Charles Fenckler, and a live set from Petrichor (£23+bf).

Synergy Concerts and Leisure System present New Year's Eve @ The Art School, Sat 31 Dec

One of the few NYE options that isn't completely sold out, this Art School end-of-year belter sees Jon Hopkins headline the main room, with Nathan Fake, Barker and N>E>D in tow. In the Vic Bar, Nightwave leads the charge, with Konx-om-PaxBossy Love and Sofay rounding out the bill (10pm-4am; £26+bf).

New Year's Day with Roy Davis Jr @ Hillhead Bookclub, Sun 1 Jan

Tickets are still available for Hillhead Bookclub's annual NYD extravaganza; this time around, they're kicking off the New Year with the help of the legendary Roy Davis Jr. As the Hillhead crew put it, "with a discography of seven albums, more records than we could count to his name, a collaboration list longer than Beyonce’s christmas card list and no sign of slowing down, there’s no doubt he’ll bring the party".

Support on the night comes from local DJ/label head/good guy The Wasp of Dixon Avenue Basement Jams fame. Get down for a boogie and start 2017 as you mean to go on (£15+bf).
