Plaid (Live A/V) + Konx-om-Pax (Live A/V) @ The Art School, Thu 29 Sep

Plaid are London-based producers Andy Turner and Ed Handley, whose earlier work you may know of under the name of The Black Dog. This Art School gig is the only Scottish date they'll be playing, and it's your chance to see them present the highly acclaimed live show for their new album The Digging Remedy on Warp Records.

Konx-om-Pax – who has created album art for the likes of Hudson Mohawke – plays live in support, having dropped his melodic second LP Caramel on Planet Mu records back in July. He makes a welcome return to his original stomping ground, with a new set of "aggressively positive" rave nostalgia scoring his trademark kaleidoscopic visuals. Sofay (formerly Cleoslaptra) and Biotron warm up the decks.

Pressure presents Slam with Dave Clarke (and others) @ SWG3, Fri 30 Sep

Another edition of Pressure takes place this weekend, with another all star line-up: the Techno Baron Dave Clarke headlines proceedings, with French producer and DJ Agoria, industrial techno duo AnD, and local pair Silicon Soul rounding out the bill.

Don't Drop Cafe @ Up On The Hill Cafe, Sat 1 Oct

A party in a cafe? Why on Earth not, especially when the "wee joint" in question has "enough room for 200, an outdoor terrace and breathtaking panoramic views over the whole of Glasgow".

The first ever Don't Drop Cafe event will be serving up a tasty selection of tunes courtesy of Ejeca, a Belfast export who has previously worked with fellow Northern Irish duo Bicep and is now firmly established as a reputable purveyor of high quality house and techno; plus Sensu's Junior and Callum & Doug from Boogaloo. The party kicks off at 5pm and carries on until midnight (and a collection for Alzheimer Scotland will be running too – donate freely!)

Keep Your Eyes Peeled...

...for George Fitzgerald's secret location party this Saturday (1 Oct). The UK-born, Berlin-based DJ and producer is back in the country for a very special intimate party, with only 150 tickets available. The event promises "an incredible space with the best sound system money can buy" and a full lineup TBA. The location will be announced at 8pm on the evening of the event via email – clear your schedule and let the guessing games begin (£15 + bf)

Chilean production whizz-kid Nicolas Jaar returns with a hotly anticipated new LP on 30 September. If you just can't wait until Friday, the new six-track album, entitled Sirens, can currently be streamed in full via Jaar's own online radio project, The Network.
