Take your pick from disco, Nightrave grooves and a special one-off film screening in this week's Glasgow clubbing highlights
Horse Meat Disco @The Berkeley Suite, Sat 18 Feb
Everyone's favourite collective, the inimitable Horse Meat Disco, will be spinning up a storm at The Berkeley Suite this weekend. With over a decade's worth of experience under their belts since the four-man group started out in Vauxhall, this one will be a certified banger. Plus Glasgow's trusty steed OOFT will be taking on the warm up (£10 OTD).
The Slovenian-born, Glasgow-based Nightwave – a producer, DJ, vocalist, promoter and Heka Trax label-boss – will debut her live show for the first time in Scotland this Saturday, as she performs her own material ahead of her upcoming EP release next month. Support comes from some of Glasgow's finest rave merchants – DABJ's Fear-E, Heated Heads' Mother and So Low's Ribeka (£5+bf).
Raving Iran @ Barras Art and Design, Sun 19 Feb
This one-off film event is presented in association with Sub Hub, an ongoing programme of cultural events that expand outside the walls of Sub Club’s Jamaica Street basement venue. Raving Iran explores the lives of Anoosh and Arash, who risk their freedom in order to share music in their home of Tehran, where Western music is banned and sharing it is a punishable offence. The screening will be accompanied by Iranian street food inspired by some of the best Persian chefs working in Scotland, with Tehrain-born producer Kasra V spinning tunes ahead of the screening (£14/£12 student/unemployed).
