Inner City Acid continue to produce the goods with another impressive line up. This month sees acid house pioneers DJ Pierre and Phuture 303 both appearing. For those who don't know their background, we'll take you back briefly: well before the likes of Danny Rampling were playing a ‘brand new’ sound, these guys were truly discovering a new sound way back in 1984. Spanky and Herb Jackson (Phuture 303) had been looking for the equipment to make the music they wanted and their search for a Roland TB 303 led them to DJ Pierre. As a trio they formed Phuture and began making a squelchier sound that produced the likes of the classic tune Acid Tracks, and effectively started of a musical movement that is still thriving in many modern tracks. DJ Pierre now plays alone as a DJ and his 2 hour set will be a real treat if his appearance at the ICA third birthday is anything to go by, while Phuture 303 will be guided by Spanky at the controls.
