A key figure in the German house scene

Article by Colin Chapman | 07 Dec 2007
A kindred spirit, as promoter Andrew Richardson describes him; Berlin's Steffen 'Dixon' Berkhahn makes his Edinburgh debut at December's Trouble. Starting out playing d'n'b with the Atari Teenage Riot Soundsystem, he broke away as his passion for playing house music grew, going on to play legendary clubs Tresor and E-Werk. In '96 he started his own Audio Video Disco night, its popularity establishing him as a key figure in the German house scene. Nowadays Dixon's famed for his much-respected Innervisions label and a residency at Berlin's 12th floor Club, Weekend, while his mix for Get Physical's Body Language series was one of 2007's finest.
