Departure Lounge are Edinburgh's own purveyors of global music with a big heavy beat, set to celebrate their fifth birthday in the high atmosphere we’ve come to expect from them. Expect a packed dancefloor as residents Astroboy, Jiminez and Mr Zimbabwe set the vibe on the decks. Resident live percussionist Cammy will be joined by regular contributors The Edinburgh Samba School to up the ante, and special guests Asazi Space Funk Explosion will play their feel-good blend of afrobeat, reggae, hip-hop and cosmic funk party vibes, with an additional brass section and MC just for the occasion. As every night with the Departure Lounge, it's a festival in itself, and this milestone party will see their usual unabashed carnival attitude pushed to even higher temperatures than normal.
