Don't-miss parties this week:

Sat 6 Aug

Jolt x Hustle presents Mark Farina
Botanical Garden (12-11pm) and 24 Kitchen Street (11pm-5am), £15

Hold your breath for a 17-hour marathon from some of Liverpool's finest party-starters, Jolt and Hustle, spanning two venues and bringing you two sets from Mark Farina – the first (at the Botanical Garden) celebrating 25 years since his Mushroom Jazz 8 Tour, and the second (at Kitchen Street) taking us back to the raw roots of Chicago house.

STATK present Adam Shelton & MR KS
New Bird Street Warehouse, 19 Aug, 7pm, £12

One of the biggest nights in August comes courtesy of the STATK crew, who take over the Botanical Garden from 7pm and continue through to 4am with One Records founder Adam Shelton. (There seems to be a bit of a venue-hopping theme here.) This is your ideal warm-up for the looming bank holiday weekend.

Krunk Apocolympics
Invisible Wind Factory, 20 Aug, 8pm, £12

Everything's going to hell in a handbasket so we may as well enjoy ourselves, eh? From the brainiacs behind the Kaz/Invisible Wind Factory comes Krunk Apocolympics, the hardest-to-spell but funnest-to-have party we'll see all summer. Take part in an evening of catastrophic competitive sports – including Recession Relay, Disaster Dressage and Chasm Jumping – all soundtracked by some boss DJs until 4am, and let off steam after these last few turbulent months of Total Shitstorm.
