Az-Tech Launch Night with Chew the Fat! guests, The Caves, Edinburgh, Mar 9

The breaks will be filtered through bouncy house and edgy techno for a style-blended smoothie

Edinburgh's been lacking a dedicated breaks club for quite a while now, but the wait is almost over, and the bat cave (sorry, The Caves) will be opening its doors for the first night of Az-Tech on Mar 9. To ensure things go off with a bang, the Chew the Fat! stalwarts of Glasgow are lending their skills to the decks, both Bradley C and Defcon 1 will be spinning the breaks, electro, and booty-popping hits. But Chew won't be providing all the entertainment, as the first hundred guests will receive free lollipops and a mix CD featuring the sounds of Az-Tech hosts/residents Al Majik, Siren and Re:Tox, who will also be supporting on the night. The music policy is similar to the Glasgow club, but the breaks will be filtered through bouncy house and edgy techno for a style-blended smoothie. Az-Tech want to play a part in 'revitalising' Edinburgh's dance scene, hit by closures and club losses, starting by sending funky vibrations through the foundations at Niddry Street, one of the City's oldest venues. The event will be monthly, but check out the opener for a bounce around the Caves! [Alex Burden]
