For those with even a mere passing interest in electronic sounds, Andrew Weatherall should need little introduction. A cursory glance at his discography highlights his involvement in the seminal Boy's Own coterie, and his groundbreaking production work on Primal Scream's indie-dance classic, Screamadelica, as well as work for a host of labels including Creation, Heavenly, Factory, Deconstruction and Warp, not to mention his own Emissions Audio Output and Rotters' Golf Club imprints. Following a relatively fallow period production-wise, he and fellow partner-in-crime and co-label founder, Keith Tenniswood (AKA Radioactive Man) resurrected their Rotters' Golf Club label in 2006 and this year released the rockabilly-electronica of the Wrong Meeting and Wrong Meeting II albums as Two Lone Swordsmen, which saw Weatherall make his debut on vocals. Despite this rockier direction, his recent Bullet Catchers Apprentice single (which saw him record under his own name for the first time), showed that his passion for dancefloor friendly tackle remains strong and in the intimate surroundings of Maggie's, this is sure to be a special night.
