Andrew Divine @ Club For Heroes, Wee Red Bar, Edinburgh, 25 Jul

Article by Scott Ramage | 02 Jul 2008

At 15 years old, Glasgow School of Art’s popular soul and funk night Divine is Glasgow’s longest running regular club night. Maybe that’s why after so long, the man behind the party, Andrew Divine, is trying something different. The recently launched Club For Heroes, manned by Utter Gutter regular Dr Love, is becoming known for bringing psychedelic disco and house to the people of Edinburgh, and Divine has promised to play “retro techno and high-tech-funk.” Expect to hear the sound of the future as it was in the past, when electronic music was vacuum fresh. With a guaranteed excellent selection of tunes and its tongue firmly lodged in its cheek, this is a night that will have you nostalgic for a time you may not have even experienced. [Scott Ramage]
