A State of Mind

Article by Michael Slevin | 24 Apr 2008

Following on from its successful debut at Cabaret Voltaire, Lower returns, but with a twist. This time, it’ll be taking the form of a three hour, tri-partite hip-hop spectacle. With headliners A State of Mind recently receiving a 5 Skinny review, and their promise of mellow vibes that carve a return to an age when shoelaces were fat and Michael Jackson was black. Supporting will be Contact Play, their corrosive verbosity anchoring intensive beat-murder - expect an awesome, if slightly menacing, show. Also on support are local heroes the Penpushers, and tonight's show will be celebrating the release of the turntablism outfit's second album; expect instrumental leftfield and the darkest of poetry. Whatever breed of hip-hop head you are, there'll be something here to get your feet itching.

7pm-10pm, £5
