Friends claim Rihanna “despises” Chris Brown

Rihanna “despises” Chris Brown, it has been claimed.

The 21-year-old singer cannot bear to discuss her relationship with Chris with those close to her, and is still struggling to come to terms with the violent assault he inflicted on her in February. Chris was sentenced to five years probation, six months community labour, 52 weeks of domestic violence classes and ordered to stay away from her for five years following the altercation.

Although Rihanna recently gave a US TV interview claiming she still “loves and cares” about Chris, a close friend insists she refuses to let people around her even say his name.

The source told National Enquirer magazine: “Behind the scenes the truth is Rihanna despises Chris - so much so that if someone mentions him in passing she’ll say, ‘Please don’t talk about him.’

“She absolutely did the right thing by being classy in the interview, rather than coming off as vindictive. But I’ve even heard her curse Chris out for what he did to her. She did love him deeply, but in reality those feelings have died away.”

In the televised interview, Rihanna admitted she was embarrassed to have taken Chris back after he assaulted her. She revealed she finally decided to end the relationship when she realised the effect her decision could have on other young women suffering domestic violence.

Chris was sentenced in August after agreeing a plea bargain which kept him out of jail. While passing the sentence, Judge Patricia Schnegg said she was not “immune to the chatter in the airwaves” – widely thought to be a reference to claims Chris and Rihanna had met up, so breaking the restraining order put in order at a previous hearing.

The order barred Chris from having any kind of contact, even via the phone, with Rihanna. It has now been claimed he tired to arrange to meet her via email, resulting in her threatening to show his messages to the court.

The source explained: “Up until October, Chris was stills ending her emails saying they should go out together for dinner or drinks. Rihanna finally got to the point where she threatened to go to the judge if he kept on bothering her. He’s stopped since then.”
