Hyperactive local boys let rip with energetic punk racket

Article by Ryan Drever | 27 Oct 2008

Poised under the infamously red hot lights of King Tut's, the King Hats let rip with a set so fast paced and riddled with energy, it's almost impossible to take your eyes off them. Having played the prestigious T-Break stage at this years T in the Park, as well as racking up some decent local supports and radio play, it's obvious this band are beginning to strike a chord, with several pockets of the modestly packed crowd doing their very best to pull shapes to their melodic, punk racket. Singer Alan Power (his real name) sings and stabs at his guitar as if it were a menace while the rest of the band accompany with a barrage of shouts and punchy rhythms. In much the same way as if you gave a gaggle of hyperactive kids a high quantity of sugar and told them to make a noise, this is exciting to watch and suprisingly fun to listen to.
