Mogwai announce new Album and EP
Glasgow's favourite sons of post-rock have announced the schedule of their return and revealed the details therein. The Batcat EP is set to appear on 8 Sept, which will usher in their sixth full length album The Hawk Is Howling on 22 Sept.
Featuring a tune called Stupid Prick Gets Chased By The Police And Loses His Slut Girlfriend, the tracklisting for the Batcat EP is lightly indicative of Mogwai's apparent subscription to Anton Newcombe's radge school of song titling. The trilogy of tunes will be made available on CD, 12" vinyl and download:
1 - Batcat
2 - Stupid Prick Gets Chased By The Police And Loses His Slut Girlfriend
3 - Devil Rides
The song Batcat itself is lifted from the full length LP, The Hawk Is Howling, which will also contain the following, predominantly Newcombe-tastic tracklist:
1. I'm Jim Morrison, I'm Dead
2. Batcat
3. Daphne and The Brain
4. Local Authority
5. The Sun Smells Too Loud
6. Kings Meadow
7. I Love You, I'm Going To Blow Up Your School
8. Scotland's Shame
9. Thank You Space Expert
10. The Precipice
The band will then embark on this short tour of the UK:
21 Oct - Corn Exchange - Edinburgh
22 Oct - Manchester Academy - Manchester
24 Oct - Hammersmith Apollo - London
Keep yer een peeled for a word with the band on these very pages in the coming weeks.
