XpoNorth features events dedicated to music, screen and broadcast, crafts and fashion, gaming, design, architecture, and publishing. There's also a series of workshops, panels and masterclasses taking place over its two days.

This year's conference features discussions on magazine publishing, writing for TV soap operas, the impact of music festivals and the role of technology in the modern creative industries, as well as live music and short film showcases. The keynote speaker at this year's XpoNorth is Professor Irene McAra-McWilliam, head of the School of Design at Glasgow School of Art.

XpoNorth is also offering free placements on its brand new live XpoNorth Live! television station, and the festival also features training and classes aimed at under 25s on digital media, lyric and song writing, and TV drama. Announcing this year's programme, XpoNorth director Amanda Millen said: “Creativity is a big part of who we are in the Highlands and the digital age has been a game-changer for creatives. XpoNorth is famous for being the place where creative industry insiders spot ‘the next big thing’."

XpoNorth takes place in Inverness on 8 & 9 June; the event is free and registration is open now via Eventbrite.
