Get your designs into production

Feature by Rosamund West | 19 Oct 2010

We hear about a lot of opportunities here at The Skinny, but this one particularly caught our eye, perhaps because it involves slicing through rubber and metal with WATER to create delicate cut-out designs. How do they do that? We’re not entirely sure, but suspect that if you were to enter and ultimately win this competition you'd be informed of the intricacies of this mysterious process.

The details are: your favourite creative networking site Central Station has teamed up with product designer Paul Kerlaff to source new designs to be used in the unique Shadow Screen pattern panel service offered by his company, With Kerlaff, produced using the aforementioned high-pressure water cutting technique. Designs are currently in production from the likes of Timorous Beasties and Jacqueline Poncelet, so the eventual winner will be in renowned company. Anyone who can produce an image is eligible to apply, and the designer judged the best through a 'crowdsourced' public poll will be rewarded with their design being put into production, £500 and royalties on eventual sales. There is also a possibility that other designs could also be put into production.
