Gilded Balloon Basement

Over the last decade, Gilded Balloon have built a reputation for themselves as one of Scotland's leading entertainment venues. Known as one of the 'Big Four' during the Edinburgh Fringe, along with The Pleasance, Assembly and Underbelly, Gilded Balloon's venues have played host to some of the world's finest comedians and performers.  

Comedy lovers need not wait for August to come round though, as Gilded Balloon have now bagged themselves a year-round venue in the shape of Gilded Balloon Basement. Compact and vertically limited it may be, but there's a whole lot of love for Edinburgh's newest comedy joint.

The Rose Street location is the perfect situation for this laughter den, as it's only a short walking distance to the city centre's treasure trove of bars and restaurants, but it's also tucked away enough for it to feel like you've stumbled upon one of the capital's best kept secrets. The box office opens one hour before each show, which leaves plenty of time to get in a (decently priced, might we add!) bevvie, or five, from the in-house bar.
