Thom Yorke - Harrowdown Hill

regardless of drum loops it makes for a compelling listen

Harrowdown Hill
Single title: Harrowdown Hill
Artist: Thom Yorke
Label: XL
To be honest, this sounds just like Thom Yorke without Radiohead; the distinct vocals that are such a large part of Radiohead's sound are there, along with lyrical compositions that cut deep, slicing through your everyday worries and confronting you with that bigger picture of how shit the world really is. The only problem is that the orchestral backing provided by the remainder of Radiohead has been replaced by an annoying rubber beat kicking over and over in the background. It still has that moody feel similar to the remainder of Yorke's back-catalogue though, which regardless of drum loops makes for a compelling listen. [Xavier Toby] This single is out on August 21.
