Liverpool Psych Fest announces 2016 line-up

The Super Furry Animals will headline Liverpool International Festival of Psychedelia 2016, with the initial line up for this year's Psych Fest unveiled today.

Gruff Rhys and company head up the bill for this year's festival alongside Southend psych five-piece The Horrors – read our May 2014 cover feature with the band. Also announced for 2016 are groundbreaking and highly influential duo Silver Apples, ambient electronic duo Demdike Stare and Cavern of Anti-Matter, the new outfit from Stereolab's Tim Gane.

Elsewhere on the bill, Tokyo label Guruguru Brain present a showcase of underground Japanese psych, Fat White Family and Eccentronic Research Council members team up as Moonlandingz, as well as sets from a host of bands from around the globe including Japanese heavyweights Acid Mothers Temple, London via Bahrain quintet Flamingods and Andalucian trio Guadalupe Plata.
