Frightened Rabbit announce The First Incident festival
They're joined by Hookworms and Be Charlotte at SWG3 this June
They're currently celebrating ten years since the release of their seminal The Midnight Organ Fight album with a string of anniversary gigs, and now Frightened Rabbit have unveiled the details of their first festival – aptly titled The First Incident. The all-dayer, at SWG3 on Fri 1 Jun, features a headline set from Scott Hutchison and co alongside sets from Leeds krautrock extraordinaires Hookworms, Dundee pop juggernaut Be Charlotte and DIY art-rock trio Dama Scout.
Of course after the show comes the after party, and The First Incident's post-gig club night features DJ sets from the band themselves, We Were Promised Jetpacks' guitarist Mike Palmer, and James Graham of The Twilight Sad and Out Lines. The all-dayer is the latest of a string of big shows to be confirmed for SWG3's new Galvanizer's Yard outdoor space this summer, with Belle and Sebastian playing the venue on 25 May before a pair of shows from LCD Soundsystem on 27 & 28 May.
The First Incident takes place at SWG3, Glasgow, 1 June; tickets on sale on Fri 17 Mar at 9am. To celebrate ten years of The Midnight Organ Fight – and 150 issues of The Skinny – we asked Scott Hutchison for an insight into the story behind the record; scroll on to read his reflections on the album.
