Ape and Apple

Ape and Apple is a traditional pub in Manchester’s city centre, keeping the Holts pub tradition alive by serving drinks at super-reasonable prices. The bar serves cask ales — some of which are changed monthly to introduce a variety of local brews to the bar — as well as plenty of spirits, and traditional pub grub. Expect to find delicious takes on standard pub staples, including sandwiches, burgers, fish and chips and curry. Enjoy your food and drink within the surroundings of the traditional pub interior, or come summertime head to their rooftop beer garden if you fancy a pint in the sun. The Ape and Apple is also well known for being the home of Comedy Balloon, Manchester’s longest running free comedy night. Since 2000, Comedy Balloon has hosted a mix of regulars on the comedy scene as well as budding newcomers, with hundreds of comedians passing through and creating huge laughs over the years.
