Tapa Coffeehouse

In a city that has never suffered from a shortage of passionate baristas, it might seem a little thoughtless to have the ‘Best Coffee in the City by a Country Mile’ plastered in large, garish font across your front windows. This is the only criticism that can really be made of Tapa Coffeehouse. Regardless of whether or not their boast is accurate, Tapa most definitely get it right when it comes to making coffee – particularly if you favour a smooth, velvety taste.

They’ve been making their own coffee since 2002, and also host a coffee rotisserie downstairs offering a range of freshly-roasted beans for connoisseurs. That’s not to say it’s just for caffeine addicts, mind – the great range of cakes alongside a decent sandwich selection are enough to turn Tapa into a temptation for anyone. This is all done in a pleasant setting that's welcoming to all. It can be slightly pricy, though – so perhaps not the best place for a cheap cuppa, but certainly the place for a great one.
