R-CADE

Much like its kindred spirit Super Bario, R-Cade is born out of the simple premise that video games are awesome. They’re especially awesome when played with friends and especially when those friends are all in the same room – it’s great that online gaming lets you whoop someone in another time zone, but does it really compare to staring deep into the eyes of another human being in that effervescent moment before you unleash a Blue Shell? We just don’t think it does.

The immediate appeal of R-Cade is that simple – set up a rotating range of retro games and invite the public in to button-bash to their heart’s content. But if a thing is worth doing, it’s worth doing in style – a hazy neon den of rosewood and pop culture embellishments, R-Cade is the ultimate nerd haven. Snacks are the other vital component to any good gaming lair. You want to be right on the cusp of that high score only to have your sugar high come crashing down and restore you to the useless reflex speed of the untwitching masses? No, of course you don’t. That’s not how you defeat Ganondorf. Look, he’s laughing at you. See what you’ve done.

Worry no more though, because R-Cade is fully loaded with import Asian snackery, ranging from instant ramen to Hello Panda candy and whatever the hell a Pocky is. Game on.
