The Bearded Baker is everything that is right with Edinburgh's flourishing cafe scene: great coffee, wholesome small-batch produce and laid back vibes.
Situated in the heart of Edinburgh’s New Town on Rodney Street, just off Broughton Road, this micro-bakery offers a friendly, welcoming atmosphere paired with delicious ethically sourced coffee, freshly prepared bagels and locally produced baked goods.
Their culinary efforts have not gone unrewarded: they are slowly but surely spreading their wares throughout wider Edinburgh, counting 181 Delicatessen, Baba Budan, Fieldwork and Filament Coffee among their impressive and ever-growing list of stockists.
Although bagels are primarily their thing, The Bearded Baker have recently branched out into the production of doughnuts. With the help of Teadough (whose founder, incidentally, shares a lineage with the original inventor of the modern doughnut) they have created a range of imaginative twists on the familiar baked treat and, trust us, they are absolutely to die for.
