Taco Mamaza Ocean Terminal

An outpost of Southern Californian cuisine in the heart of the city, Taco Mazama is all about the burrito – and we're not about to argue with 'em.  This much-loved chain started in Glasgow and has now found its way across the M8, setting up camp in three Edinburgh locations, Princes Street, Ocean Terminal and Lothian Road.

All the usual fillings are on offer – with the pulled pork a particular favourite – and if you fancy your Mexican food in a different configuration, then tacos, enchiladas and quesadillas are also all on the menu, and with late-night openings at the weekend this is one to remember for that end of a night out scran. They do some great deals too, for example you can pick up a burrito and a beer for eight pounds, or a taco and tequila for four. 

The Burrito Challenge is also worth a look, if even just to watch someone else attempt it. For the price of one triple sized (yep, triple) burrito, you can take on the challenge of finishing it in under ten minutes, and if you succeed, you guessed it, it's free. Get your photo on the Wall of Fame and then, if you're the fastest for your restaurant, you get to do it all again in a massive eat-off to win a years supply of burritos. You'd probably never want to see a burrito again but imagine the glory.
