Nestled inside The Street bar on Picardy Place you will now find The Street Art Gallery. As the name implies, the art gallery showcases the work of various street artists, in the surrounds of the aptly-named pub. So, now, whilst you are enjoying your regular G&T (or whatever your tipple may be), you can also enjoy some world class street art from the likes of Banksy, Roy Lichtenstein, New York's Shepard Fairey and Keith Haring. The gallery is the first of its kind in Scotland and the creation of the bar's owner Wendy Schofield, who has a keen interest in street art, believing it's the freshest form of art around. She has busily collected a wide range of art to exhibit at the gallery and will regularly rotate the works to show the variety of pieces she has acquired. Plus, as well as selling world-class pieces, she is also looking to exhibit work from local street artists in the future. Keep your eyes peeled, as they say.
