Apparently it's all the rage to pretend alcohol's illegal again at the moment - it seems you can't go far on your pursuit of a bar without stumbling upon another wee nook that won't serve your cocktail in anything but a teapot. But Panda and Sons is different, and takes its appropriation of prohibition rather seriously.
First off, it's a real life speakeasy disguised a barber shop. Which is bloody cool, isn't it? Also, to get to the fun, you've got to push one of those secret bookcase doors that you thought only existed in spy films and fairytales.
When you're inside, you'll get your mischevious little mits on the cocktail list, and treat yourself to a classy little tipple or two. Allthough the menu is definitely worth sticking to, even the pickiest of sippers can find their bliss. Panda and Sons are happy to mix you up whatever old fave you're craving (as long as they've the ingredients, of course).
There's also a little selection of snacks and platters - a clipped menu, but curated perfectly to see you through an evening sinking Old Fashioneds and feeling naughty. So that's that, head over to Panda's and let them deliver you your very own roaring twenties. And thirties. And whateverties. [Kate Pasola]
