Fireside

From the folk behind Edinburgh's much-loved Paradise Palms and the pitt comes Fireside, a multi-purpose event and entertainment space which sprawls across not one but five of the Waverley Arches.

There's something incredibly hipster, yet oh-so-loveable about Fireside. The split-level, sometimes open-air, street-art inked venue is reminiscent of the pop-up bars that appear during the capital's festival season, only this one is here to stay.

With its own stage, garden and plenty of cavernous nooks and crannies to shelter in, the space has many uses. They also happen to have one of the best food yards around, with chow supplied by crowd-pleasin' names like The Buffalo Truck, Lucky Pig Vegetarian and Cu Bao, and beers fresh from local legends, Barney's.

Open every Friday from 3.30pm-1am and Saturday from 12pm-1am, with occassional midweek parties, expect to find gigs, games, screenings and parties, and with good vibes all round, you'll find that all are welcome – be they young, old or covered in fur. It also has one of the best views of Edinburgh's skyline, FYI.
