The Annexe

Not an indie eye was left dry dry when old town favourite gig and event venue The Liquid Room had to close due to a neighbouring fire.

However, after an almost two year refurbishment close, it has returned bigger, better, and with a brand new space – The Annexe. It acts as an overspill for special events, and a second room for Musika on the first Saturday of the Month and for Mansion every Wednesday. Outside of that it’s a great wee club in it's own right, with a separate entrance from the Cowgate (the lane that takes you to the back of Espionage). The venue capacity is approximately 250, and the nicotine enthusiasts will be relieved to hear that there’s still access to the main Liquid Room smoking garden - handy indeed.

Current nights include Heavy Gossip & Ultragroove, Jackhammer, Souloco, 49Hz and Zzap. Oh, and not forgetting Saturday Night Beaver - which, quite frankly, sounds sensational. Check out the website for up to date listings and further details.
