The Woodend Barn is a community-based arts venue, situated on the outskirts of Banchory and surrounded by the beautiful scenery of Royal Deeside. An extremely versatile building which incorporates the Lang Byre Gallery (originally the cow byre), it is now an exhibition, gigging & workshop space. The Barn is run by Woodend Arts Association along with a collective of staff and volunteers, and can be used for anything from theatre, concerts or ceilidhs to fabulous wedding parties.

Then, if you're peckish after a morning of arts-dabbling, you can pop over to Buchanans Bistro. It's a bright and airy eatery, flexibly serving food and drinks from 9am through the day. Turn up a little later and you can choose from the wine boards and evening food menu in the candlelit ambience. Tucked behind the venue itself lies another pretty ol' quirk – the Barn is surrounded the Wild Garden – a rural sanctuary, complete with wooden benches and raised platforms, cultivated entirely by a group of five gardeners.
