The Skinny Sessions: Sparrow and the Workshop

Exclusive live sessions from T in the Park 2010, only at The Skinny and Radio Magnetic.

Video by Dave Kerr | 26 Aug 2010

Following the success of our stint at the T in the Park kitchen in 2009, this summer The Skinny joined forces with Radio Magnetic to capture a unique series of acoustic sessions with many of the homegrown talents you've read about in these here pages over the last few years. In the coming weeks you'll be able to see video of the sessions here and listen to full audio recordings over at Radio Magnetic's site too.

For part four, Jill and Gregor from Sparrow and the Workshop stopped by the kitchen with a few songs from their recently released full-length debut Crystal's Fall. You can read Jill's track-by-track guide to the album here, and our own Darren Carle's review over here.

Having already toured extensively with Brian Jonestown Massacre and Idlewild since the start of the year, the prolific Glasgow-based alt-country trio took on Europe this summer, hustling to make their appearance at T after an appearance at a Slovakian festival the day before. We salute their unwavering dedication.

There's a filmed rendition of Devil Song above, and the audio of the set is available over at radiomagnetic.com/titp.

Playing Snafu, Aberdeen on 1 Oct; Mad Hatters, Inverness on 2 Oct and King Tut's, Glasgow on 4 Oct.
