Stones Throw Records' champ Jonwayne debuts 'The Come Up'

Video | 08 Jan 2014

LA rapper and producer Jonwayne has had a busy couple of years – over the course of 2012 and 2013 he has released his first offical full-length album Rap Album One through Stones Throw, contributed work to releases by Jonti, Homeboy Sandman and Geoff Barrow's Quakers, delivered three limited edition mixtape releases, and produced the excellent Daytime Naps podcast. Now, he shares the new video for a cut from Rap Album One, entitled The Come Up, featuring a guest verse from rapper Scoop DeVille.

The Come Up is split into two tracks on the album – here, director Henry DeMaio combines both parts into one slick monochramatic clip, featuring Jonwayne riding a bike and rapping behind a picket fence, while Scoop DeVille exits a luxury car wreathed in dry ice.
