Manipulate / ECA Animation Showcase: The Making of Longbird by Will Anderson

The Skinny presents The Making of Longbird (2011) by Will Anderson, one in a series of selected works from Edinburgh College of Art's past graduates in the discipline of animation. A selection of some of the best of ECA's graduate animation work from the past 20 years will be screened at the 2014 Manipulate festival.

A long lost animated character has a second chance to shine, or will his dream go up in smoke? Will Anderson is a BAFTA winning writer/director and animator from the Scottish Highlands. Currently living in Edinburgh, Will specialises in design and character animation for film and television. Will has worked in many professional productions, ranging from feature-length documentary films, to short animation series for both children's and adults' television entertainment. His short The Making of Longbird has screened at over 50 film festivals, picking up prizes at Warsaw Film Festival, Brooklyn Film Festival, Edinburgh International Film Festival, as well as Stuttgart, Annecy, and London International Animation Festivals.
