Music Video Premiere: Elle Mary & The Bad Men – 'Ocean'

Video by News Team | 20 Nov 2014

We're delighted to premiere the new video from Manchester talents Elle Mary & The Bad Men, for their song Ocean. Having performed with the likes of Tara Jane O'Neil and Dan Michaelson – and counting Bill Callahan, Angel Olsen and Songs: Ohia among her influences – Elle Mary is drawn to the communicative and bonding qualities of 'folk,' but likes to explore beyond its stylistic conventions. Ocean’s slowcore minimalism and melancholic mood are captured perfectly in this video, directed by James Oliver and Tom Marrett.

As well as kindly playing The Skinny stage at Indy Man Beer Con in 2013, Elle Mary has played gigs as far and wide as San Francisco and Edinburgh, and recently completed a solo house concert tour of Sweden, Denmark and Germany. To celebrate the launch of Ocean, Elle Mary & The Bad Men play a celebratory gig on 2 December at The Eagle Inn, Salford, for Hey! Manchester. Support comes from Rains and Sobbing Blonde, and tickets are just £5 advance, available here or in person from Common, Piccadilly Records and Vinyl Exchange in Manchester.

The band are currently recording an EP, due for release on seven-inch in early 2015 – keep an eye on ellemarymusic.com.
