AMC Cinema

Located within the Great Northern Warehouse in Deansgate — which also holds restaurants, a bowling alley and a casino — this multiplex cinema is one of many AMC Cinemas in the country. The cinema, which opened in 2001, holds 16 screens — some of which are able to screen films in 3D — and range between 86 and 466 seaters, screening all of the latest blockbusters as well as a number of independent productions. Screening films until late on Fridays and Saturdays, the AMC Cinema also screens live broadcasts and streams of theatre productions from the country’s most prestigious theatres. It’s also the home of the Manchester International Film Festival, which showcases British and international film making, screening short films and full length features, as well as a night dedicated to student films and music videos. The concessions stand won’t burn too much of a hole in your pocket either, with plenty of offers available including free refills on drinks (if a bucket of Coca-Cola wasn’t enough already).
