The Good Spirits Co.

The Good Spirits Co. is located on Bath Street a block away from Buchanan Street. Inside this basement shop is an emporium of all things alcoholic. Specialising in all sorts of spirits, the room is filled with floor to ceiling shelving groaning with gins, vodkas, whiskies, rums, tequilas and bourbons. The three guys that run the shop are spirit experts as well as enthusiasts, their collective CV includes running a whisky festival, being a qualified 'Sherry Educator' (yes, it's a real thing) and studying for a WSET diploma in Wines and Spirits. So you're in good hands if you have any questions about the stock, and they'll often let you taste the spirit neat before you purchase. Through the back of the shop is a purpose built tasting room where they host tastings every Friday evening as well as events for private groups. The space is set out like a gallery with artworks along the walls and a simple wooden bar-cum-lecture podium. Additionally, they can hold parties of up to 30 people comfortably, and larger group talks, master-classes and tastings can be held off location. Their tastings are popular events, leaving you nicely tipsy and brimming with new found knowledge of your favourited spirit. Book early.
