This is a great place for a bite to eat and the staff are one of friendliest iv seen. Must eat place in Edinburgh.

I've just returned from a stag do in Edinburgh. 12 of us stayed in the Point Hotel on bread street, close to Grassmarket. On the Friday the advance party of 4 were looking for breakfast and chanced upon the Coffee Mill! The guy behind the counter was charming from the start, very welcoming and jovial!

Breakfast was great, and just what we needed. Nice little touches like bringing a second pot of tea to the table and that the knives and forks were placed on the table in front of each of us with care! Cost abotu £8 each by the time we had thrown in a small tip, so not bad in the middle of a bid city!

We mentioned that we had 8 more joining us and could they serve us on the Saturday morning. Gino (the owner / manager I think?) was obviously more than happy to accomodate, and sensibly asked us to ring him with the order, so he could start the cooking. I know it was good business for him, but nice to be made to feel welcome as a stag party (albeit as a group of 40 something blokes!)

So, we rang in the morning to find two tables of 8 and 4 setup for in the small cafe area and breakfast served within about 10 minutes of arrival!

We enjoyed it that much we went back on Sunday as well! Don't know what it's done to our cholesterol levels, but it certainly helped us soak up the 80' and Heavy!

I cannot recommend the Coffee Mill enough. Gino the owner is the most accommodating guy around and the food he serves is delicious and varied. The prices are reasonable and this is the only place I'd go for a full Scottish Breakfast. It's my local and I'm very loyal to this wee cafe!
