Curlers Rest

After undergoing a £0.5M refurb, the new look Curlers Rest (one of the oldest alehouses in the West End) has completed a major transformation from tatty Scream pub into a pleasant, spacious and very comfortable food and drink spot.

Working on the basis that a pub that looks after its beer will follow suit with the customers, the fact that the bar now carries five real ales is a definite plus point. The menu looks a solid bet as well with some arresting bar snacks and a good selection of mains.

On a wintry Sunday there's a log fire on upstairs and it's a great spot in which to spread out the papers and relax. As a bonus it's only metres away from the Hillhead Tube station making it a good stop-off on the way in, or from the City centre.
