Bombay Bicycle Club

The rather ambiguously abbreviated BBC is flourishing in America after being plucked from provinciality in its Indian city namesake, and its Tollcross branch is - deservedly - doing just as well. A street-facing, glass fronted restaurant, the warmly-toned lighting and quirky 1920s art-work stop BBC from ever seeming cold or impersonal, although any qualms an over-sensitive diner might entertain about the décor are swiftly forgotten once the menus appear.
The screeds of delectable-sounding dishes could, embarrassingly, mean that cheerfully attentive waiting staff have to return to your table more than once to inquire if you're ready to order, a ditheryness on The Skinny's part not reflected in the alacrity and aplomb with which the dishes are presented. The food itself is incredible; a scrupulous attention to detail results in gorgeously fresh, wonderfully flavoursome cuisine whatever you plump for (The Skinny must recommend chicken musallam with beef keema naan, aloo panak and - if you can manage it - vacherin for puds).
Indian cuisine at its absolute best. Go eat.
