Formerly home to The Bowery, The Roxy Art House has been rejigged of late. Nestling within a restored 19th century church at a junction between Edinburgh's historic Old Town and its unabashedly student-centric University district, it's expanded into a spacious theatre/art gallery complex, while the new basement Roxy Bar splits into trendy socialising area, and gig space. Also worth checking out is The Roxy's in-house artist-run gallery (Embassy), which runs a prolific events and exhibition programme.
