Drouthy's

No frills top-notch pub goodness: that's what Drouthy's wants to offer you, and we're a little disappointed more places don't do proud-but-unfussy to the same high standard. Whether you're popping in for a hangover breakfast or settling down for a long and lazy pint-filled afternoon before the roaring fire, expect hearty grub with a few exotic twists, a grand behind-the-bar selection and an all-round warm welcome. If afternoon segues into evening - as afternoons invariably do - head downstairs to the Drouthy Basement for one of their regular live performances, with everything from rock, to acoustic, to jazz, to big-band taking centre stage.

  • Good location, right across from university and close to centre of town. Perfect student pub, but also suitable for any age!

It has recently taken over by new management, and has been vastly improved. Has been redecorated, and now has a warm and unpretentious feel to it.

Menu has been revamped too, and it serves delicious meals throughout the day. The weekend hangover breakfasts are the best i've tried! But also serves soup, sandwiches and main meals (try the drouthy gourmet burger - tastes amazing, and generous size!)

Has a wide range of alcoholic drinks at good prices, but equally as good for a cup of coffee and a cake.

Has a good space downstairs, where jazz, rock, acoustic etc gigs take place. Big names too- was at a KT Tunstall gig there last week.

All in all, would without a doubt recommend it, a good honest pub with friendly service and fair prices.h
