Inverleith House

The Edinburgh Royal Botanic is the only garden in the world to have an active programme of exhibitions spanning contemporary visual art and botanical science, and you’ll be hard pressed to find a more beautifully-located gallery than the 18th century mansion of Inverleith House. It presents exhibitions in spring, summer, autumn and winter, accompanied by a public engagement programme. The spring programme always originates from the garden’s archives of prints, photographs, drawings, manuscripts and herbarium/plant speciments – alongside invited solo exhibitions which have in the past included artists such as Rudolf Stingel, Vincent Fecteau and Laura Owens. Occasionally, exhibitions and events are also presented in the 73 acre landscaped grounds and glasshouses.
