The Southern Bar

Sitting pretty amongst a string of boutique shops on the outskirts of Newington, the trendily refurbished Southern Bar's proximity to the Queen's Hall makes it a handy pre-gig pit-stop. A pleasantly varied selection on the jukebox satisfies the Southern's broad-ranging clientele, with everyone from curious newbie students to the old faithfuls who remember the pub's former life as an authentically creepy Auld Reekie alehouse, flanking the bar.
If the jukebox doesn't satisfy all your musical leanings however, The Southern plays host to the occasional live gig and acoustic evening, as well as staging regular Open Mic performances and to top it all, a weekly music quiz. Phew.
