Whistlebinkies

Edinburgh’s centrally located Whistlebinkies is a small music venue and a late night bar open until 3am and therefore a viable alternative for any nocturnal drinkers wishing to avoid the clubs. An institution of the city, anyone who has been lucky enough to have long drunken nights out in Edinburgh will end up in Whistlebinkies eventually. With live music every night, ranging from acoustic to punk to tribute acts, the cavernous ‘Binkies is often crammed with loyal gig goers and intoxicated youngsters having a grand old time.

  • Hi there, we really enjoyed the four bands we heard at Whistle Binkies over the New Year period. Thankyou for that, as apart from one other venue, there wasn't anything live in the way of rock/blues/punk that we found in Edinburgh.
    The relaxed atmosphere and warmth from the cold icy weather was also very welcome. Best wishes for 2010, Sue Smith and Phil Freizinger
