A unique and intimate venue that comes into its own with Edinburgh’s fringe and jazz festivals – but also plays host to a rather impressive live gigs, comedy and clubs schedule year-round (see below) – the glamorous cabaret-style Voodoo Rooms bring a touch of Berlin glamour to Auld Reekie. Its rich decor is complemented by restored black and gold cornicing, and you can order an exhaustive list of cocktails from the highly trained bar staff, served with a flourish from the mahogany bars or directly to your leather booth. The bar opens into an elegant ballroom that serves as a luxury dining space. An extraordinary building in itself, its five rooms and three bars connect in a 360 degree circuit, each offering a sophisticated space for any occasion.
